Generations of families have enjoyed the 40 acre rainforest setting of Alma Park Zoo, the oldest Zoo in Queensland!
On Sunday 9th June, Alma Park Zoo will be celebrating Simba the Dingo’s 1st Birthday.
After a 6 year absence from the Zoo, we are pleased to announce that the Parma Wallaby has returned to Alma!
Gomez arrived from Aalborg Zoo in Denmark and Aya arrived from Lyon Zoo in France. Alma Park Zoo hope to have little Emperor Tamarins arriving later in the year from this match!
The Dingo (Canis lupus dingo) has become an iconic Australian animal, although it is not a native species of Australia. Dingos are an ancestor of the Asiatic wolf and were brought to Australia with visiting seafarers 5000 years ago.
On Mother’s Day we pay tribute to the fantastic animal Mother’s of Alma Park Zoo!
Tapirs look like a pig with a trunk, but they are most closely related to horses and rhinoceroses with several features more reminiscent of elephants or hippopotamus.
At Alma Park Zoo, we are committed to educating people about the conservation of wildlife.
We celebrated Maly the Sunbear’s 5th Birthday on Sunday March 31st raising $1000 to be donated to the Free the Bears Fund!
