Queensland's first Zoo celebrates 40 years

Queensland's first Zoo celebrates 40 years
zoos_40th_birthday.jpgBrisbane's Alma Park Zoo was officially opened on the 17th January 1970 and celebrates its 40th birthday.  As part of the celebrations a dedicated event for VIP's and our Annual Members was recently held.

Mrs Williams, wife of the late Bill Williams, who originally started the Zoo back in 1969 was gracious enough to attend the event assisting the current owner in celebrating Queensland's first Zoo.

Alma Park Zoo has come along way in the past 40 years, as an important part of the Brisbane landscape it has held a special childhood memory for many and we are lucky enough to now see them coming back with their own children.

Providing an excellent venue for thousands of school children with School Excursions 'what child hasn't had a day at the Zoo', entertaining and educating people of all ages in the plight of some of our endangered and vulnerable species', all under a relaxing rainforest canopy with plenty of BBQ's and picnic area's, it continues to be Brisbane's Best Value Family Day Out.
